So I’ve been thinking a lot about if Cuphead were an actual, animated cartoon, with regular Saturday morning episodes and traditional pencil drawn style.
- Takes place after the game, with Cuphead and Mugman as the heroes, of course, with the Devil and King Dice as the ‘bad guys’
- Most of the episodes have more to do with the bosses, now reformed, having to deal with ‘normal’ problems (because let’s face it, it’s Cuphead, nothing is normal), with a possible ‘lesson-of-the-day’ theme that might not be learned
- Other episodes involve the Devil and King Dice up to no good; to steal the brother’s souls somehow, regain full power, take over Inkwell Isle, or just causing a ruckus in general.
- Think of all the good content:
- Backstories!! How the bosses became what they were, along with some history of Cuphead and Mugman
- More expansion of Inkwell Isle and some of its regular inhabitants
- SONGS, YOU GUYS. Just imagine the Devil being asked about one of his plans, only to go “Y’know, kid, I’m so glad you asked!” And a spotlight to shine down and for a piano to appear. (Cuphead in the background: “You gotta be kiddin’ me.”)
- Animation jokes. SO many animation jokes, you guys – from light spots to erasing / painting something to life, exaggeration, etc. ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES
- Interactions! Think of how the bosses might react to each other and the brothers, now that they’re reformed
- And, of course, the classic cartoon tropes – namely pulling things out of thin air, dropping anvils, ACME products everywhere, and many more!
