A piece of media is allowed to exist outside of its release year. I am so tired of the internet pushing this garbage attitude that we should just chew things up and spit them out like gum that’s lost its flavor. “It’s [current year] why is [thing that reached peak popularity 2 years ago] on my dash/timeline?” I don’t know, why is everyone still obsessed with Shovel Knight? Why do we still play NES games? Why do we still watch Star Trek? Why are productions of the play ‘Hair’ still going on?
So, make all the Undertale jokes you want, the game itself and the theme of “don’t murder” is still relevant. Don’t let this stupid internet make you think there’s an expiration date for liking things.
And if someone wants to do a mashup of Spider Dance and Spinach Can’s parts of the song set to that part of the video where she’s wobbling back and forth in a dance like motion, you’re allowed.
