• The “Susan is Finn’s mom” theory
• The “Fionna and Cake are the real characters’ ancestors” theory
• The “Susan is actually Fionna and also she’s Finn’s mom and she wears that hat in memory of Cake” theory
• BMO gender discourse
• Obsessively checking Natasha Allegri’s tumblr for new fanart and probably using one of her bubbline works as your phone background
• Watching fubblegum progressively transform from a popular ship into the most hated pairing in the entire fandom
• Listening to Youtube covers of “Remember You” on repeat
• The “Mathematical” recap videos and their subsequent purge from the internet after “What Was Missing” aired
• People writing 800 word essays about how Princess Bubblegum was actually the most despicable television character in history because of that one thing she did with Flame Princess
• Actually remembering a time when this was a simple show and Finn was happy
• The great bubbline drought that occurred between “What Was Missing” and “Sky Witch”
• “They should move the show to Adult Swim because Cartoon Network would never allow gay characters!”
• Digging through piles of weird NSFW fanfiction on fanfic.net because for some reason the entire fandom was really fucking horny all the time
• Actually knowing who Rebecca Sugar was before Steven Universe was a thing

here’s to bonnibel, who never compromised her fierce intelligence and leadership for anything.

here’s to marceline, who continually chose to let people into her life, despite being left behind by those close to her.

here’s to simon, who is still a weird guy, but has people in his life he cares for in his own way.

here’s to tree trunks, who never let anything get in the way of true love.

here’s to phoebe, who was strong enough to walk away from a relationship that wasn’t good for her, and went on to become a queen.

here’s to lumpy space princess, whose individuality literally saved all of ooo.

here’s to bmo, who has never done anything wrong in their life, ever.

here’s to jake, who constantly drops wisdom in the midst of adventure, whose loyalty is only matched by his brother, who will always appreciate a good sandwich.

and here’s to finn, whose positivity knows no bounds, who battled his depression as hard as every monster he’s ever fought, and who wants nothing more than to protect the ones he loves.

this show found me in the darkest of times, and never failed at lifting my spirits. sure, the humor is silly and nonsensical. but these characters are all heart. i’ll always be grateful for them, and the opportunity to watch them grow over the years. adventure time, i won’t say goodbye, because we know the fun never ends. but for now, it’s been mathematical! 💖
