Both are destitute, homeless beggars.

Both have a tendency to break out into song (tho with Héctor, it usually has a purpose).

Both have demeaning nicknames (Street Rat/Chorizo).

Both are genuinely kind-hearted men, tho with a nasty habit of lying.

Both of them anger the One Friend they have (Aladdin by breaking his promise to Genie, Héctor by trying to return Miguel home), Though usually for noble, if also selfish reasons (Aladdin because he doesn’t want to let Jasmine down, Héctor because he wants to reunite with his daughter).

Both are madly in love with stubborn, independent women who have Giant Guard Cats.
