Ya’ll Egypt just had the most deadliest militant attack in the country’s modern history. A group of

assailants targeted the al-Rawda mosque in the town of Bir al-Abed. The people were doing nothing but worshiping and praying on this Friday morning (11/24/17), until the assailants launched a bomb and started shooting. Over 230 people were killed by the bomb and/or gunfire. No one has claimed responsibility, but this is still a horrifying tragedy. I know it can be hard to keep up with national news in the US, but Egypt deserves as much attention and condolences.

So I know this is a YA lit blog.

But my native country, Egypt, has suffered a terrible tragedy today. A group of militants have bombed and then opened fire on a mosque full of worshippers observing Friday prayers in Northern Sinai. Even the ambulances have been attacked. I am certain that this atrocity, like so many others, will be glossed over by major news sources and not given the attention it deserves because it has not taken place in a Western country, so I am trying to spread the word. Please hold the families of the dead and wounded in your hearts and keep them in your prayers.
