Hello everyone, Happy 2018! I hope everyone’s new year is going well so far. I’ve been pretty swamped lately but I’m doing alright.
Today, I’m making a big announcement for something that I’ve been working on for a while: I’ll be working on a new web comic series!
On January 16th, 1920, the 18th Amendment went into place that prohibited the sale, possession, transportation, and the production of alcoholic beverages in the United States of America. Those who defied the law by creating and selling illegal liquor were known as “bootleggers”.
Take a look back to 1927 and meet Jack Duffy, an Irish immigrant bootlegger in the bathtub booze business trying to not just make a living but to hopefully turn his rundown town of Scanton, Illinois around. But with prohibition agents on his trail, rival bootleggers and speakeasies hounding him, and a hideout constantly falling apart, Jack’s got his hands full. Inspired by and drawn in the style of classic 1920s-1930s animation!
A release date hasn’t been determined just yet, but I will be announcing that once I get the first few strips finished and ready to post, as well as a site to host the series on. In the meantime enjoy this pin up I whipped up of our “hero” Jack!
Big news everyone: I’m gonna be working on comics again!
