Though I have my qualms with Kirby Star Allies, the fact that I can have Kirby, Meta Knight, Dedede and now Cook Kawasaki on my team is a delight for me.
Never forget the episode of Kirby where they ask him to deliver Ramen to Dedede’s Castle, and he has an existential crisis because he wants to eat the Ramen. He just sort of shuts down on the way to the castle. When everything is over and the monster is defeated he gets congratulated for managing to resist the urge to eat it, even if he never actually delivered it
I made a What-if AU for Star Allies where Kirby uses their friend hearts to revive Void Termina. This results in him being reborn into Void, a puffball. He doesn’t know where he is or who he is, but he’s friends with Kirby and feel safe with them.
