Hey all, as many of you may or may not know, I’ve been struggling a lot these past few months with my government and benefits. And I know that I have another donation post circulating but I still desperately need help to get by. I’m currently on benefits and I just before Christmas, my benefit was sanctioned and reassessed due to my mental illnesses.
My benefit comes back in full at the end of January (25th) and until then I really need help to get groceries and keep my electricity and gas meters on throughout this month.
It’s absolutely freezing in my home and my gas/electricity meters are rapidly running out, my gas literally has pennies left in it now and it’s almost out (pictured). I’m getting really desperate now.
If anyone can spare anything at all to help me get by, even just a £1/$1, please consider it.

Also…reminder to pay attention to all local elections and VOTE. These elected officials are the people most likely to directly impact your life in the short term.
This has to start now. Right now.
Get your birth certificates. There may be a fee or long wait times. Make sure you get a certified copy.
Make sure you have ID. Dig into your state’s laws and the whole Real ID thing, because (and sorry I can’t research this now, but pneumonia) I believe there are certain states whose driver’s licenses don’t qualify for Real ID.
Make sure you’re registered to vote. Google it. Follow the instructions for your state.
Know where your local polling place is or find out if you can vote by mail.
Vote in ALL your upcoming elections. Yes, that means the little ones for city council or dog catcher or whatever. Vote those racist, homophobic, bigots out at every level.
They’re like weeds. You can pull up every visible bit, but if you leave one tiny segment of root, they’ll just come back.
To quote Mira Grant, rise up while you can. Because the Republicans are way the hell worse than zombies.

Yes!!!!!! Guys, this is SO important! The end of net neutrality could mean the end of the internet as we know it–as a graphic designer, photographer and web designer whose main platform is the internet, I seriously FEAR for my future and all other small business owners, artists, and people who base their livelihood off of the internet if this passes… Not to mention the end of any online friendships, long distance relationship, and easy contact with loved ones. It will be the end of any form of a level playing field on the internet and that is NOT okay and seriously dangerous to our society that relies heavily on the digital world.
Everyone should make a call to their congresspeople and lawmakers and express your concerns! Sign all the petitions! Go to the protests! Tell your friends! Family! Post about it in your tumblr description, your twitter and instagram bios, share any post you see on facebook! Annoy the SHIT out of your followers and friends until they do something about it! Tell everyone you can! Net neutrality is SO important!!!!!!!!!! THEY ARE VOTING ON THIS ON DECEMBER 14TH, THAT IS ONLY 4 DAYS AWAY! BE ANNOYING AS HELL, DO EVERYTHING YOU CAN!!!!!!
