The cold, hard fact is that you can’t help somebody who won’t help themself.

In other words?

If you refuse to help yourself, nobody can or will fix you.

If somebody is going out of their way to help you, don’t be a brat. Don’t resent them. Don’t spit in their face. They are, against all odds and in spite of your own stubbornness, trying SO HARD to believe in you, trying SO HARD to help you.

So if there’s somebody in your life who keeps trying to help you where you won’t help yourself… and you respond by acting like an early 2000s-era young adult novel protagonist who hates their “stupid, dumb parents who just don’t GET it”…

You ought to be ashamed. And you ought to work on starting to fix that right now.
